How to Figure Out Which Diet is Right for You

Trying to get fit in today’s world can be a bit overwhelming. There are countless trendy workouts to try, juices to drink, supplements to take — gone are the days of healthy diet + exercise = simple and guaranteed success.

On that note, it could be argued that the most overwhelming part of adopting a healthy lifestyle is deciding which diet plan will work best for you. Unlike workouts, which you can try once and make a judgment, you have to do your research and figure out which healthy meal plans work best with your time available for prep, fitness goals, taste buds, etc. And, you have to give each one at least a few weeks to see if it works before you scratch it and try something new.

To make that process a bit easier, we’ve gathered information on six of the most popular diet plans out there today. You’ll find a description of each one that’ll make it clear whether or not it’s the right fit for your lifestyle. That way, you can try it with a bit more confidence that it’ll help you achieve the results you seek.

Weight Watchers: A restriction-free diet? The Weight Watchers program makes it possible, though you’ll have to watch your portions in order to make this dream a reality. On Weight Watchers, the foods you eat will be assigned a certain point value, and you’ll have an overall number of points you can consume each day in order to achieve your fitness goals. The program has been around since the early 1960s, though it has gone through a recent metamorphosis to encourage participants to move more and choose fruits, vegetables and lean meats over other options that might be lower in both calories but also in nutritional value. For first-time dieters, this might just be the right plan: you’ll learn how to practice portion control and how to work some movement into each day.

21-Day Fix: Some say that it takes 21 days to adopt a healthy habit, and the 21-Day Fix revolves around that idea. National Academy of Sports Medicine-certified trainer Autumn Calabrese created the plan as a way to kick-start her clients’ healthy lifestyle goals, and it seems to have worked: some claim to lose up to 15 pounds on the three-week plan.Once you purchase the starter kit, you’ll be armed with containers designed to portion out your food for you. This does mean that you’ll have to engage in lots of food prep in order to ensure you eat the right number of vegetables, fruits, etc. each day. You’re also encouraged to drink shakes from the Shakeology line, which can be pricey, but supplement your weight-loss goals. The program also comes with a workout schedule, making it a great option if you’re trying to incorporate both a healthy diet and exercise plan into your life.

Paleo Diet: The Paleo Diet takes it way back — the name is short for the Paleolithic era when cavemen roamed the earth. During that time, there wasn’t a fast-food joint or grocery store in sight. Instead, the first men and women on earth would hunt and gather for what they ate.The Paleo Diet takes its cues from this natural lifestyle, though you don’t have to hunt or gather. Instead, you’ll stick to whole foods as consumed by our cave-dwelling ancestors: meats, fruits, vegetables, nuts and a bit of healthy fat from coconut or avocado oil. The pros and cons of this lifestyle have been heavily debated, of course, but it’s another option if you think your diet needs to be brought back to basics.

Whole 30: The Whole 30 diet challenges participants to give up foods that are commonly inflammatory and, as such, can keep weight on your body, cause joint aches, and spike energy levels just to let them crash. On this program, your diet will consist of the basics: some fruits, lots of vegetables, meat, seafood, eggs and healthy fat from oil, fruits, seeds and nuts. Your 30-day plan will not allow you sugar of any kind, alcohol, grains, legumes, dairy or additives likes MSG — these are the inflammatory foods mentioned above.

The Atkins Diet: The Atkins Diet has gone through a renaissance in the eyes of healthcare professionals, as it has been discovered that saturated fats aren’t as detrimental to one’s health as once believed. The diet encourages participants to go low carb for weight loss, staying full with high-fat, high-protein foods instead. After an introductory two-week phase of 20 grams of carbs per day, you can slowly reintroduce some fruits, nuts and other veggies into your plan. Once you reach your goal weight, you can fine-tune how many healthy carbs per day you can eat in order to maintain your new weight and voila.

Mediterranean Diet: There are more beautiful things about Greece, Italy and Spain than the landscape, though these Mediterranean countries have views for days. Their residents adhere to what’s now known as the Mediterranean Diet, though they do so just by habit. You can make it your habit, too, by following its simple tenants.Your diet will revolve around seafood, healthy grains, produce and healthy fats, which falls right in line with the meals you’d have at an authentic Spanish, Italian or Greek restaurant by the sea. Those who follow this sort of meal plan typically weigh less and have a lower risk of developing heart disease.

So, have you figure out which diet is right for you?

Blogger Challenge

Keep typing this and that, end up with deleting. I don’t even remember how many times I was doing the same thing. I’m hoping that I’m done with everything from writing and editing blog posts (including the old ones) so I could make something to make sure my blog looks fresh and great. Sometimes I felt how unfair I treated my blog.

Even when I did have time to sit down and work on it, I often found myself staring at a blank screen, feeling uninspired and confused on how to settle down all the things I need to do for my blog. Do my blog theme looks good enough? Which posts I need to re-update?And jotted something down on my notebook for new ideas for the posts. As this continued on, I fell into a blogging slump.

Gladly I blogwalking to Farhana Jafri‘s blog and got to this Blogger Challenge. At first, I felt like quite embarrassed because some of the challenges, you need to show yours photos but I wish I could do my best (google search ‘how to take a properly photos and doesn’t look awkward in front of camera’). Life Lately – Never Look Down

Even if you are rich and capable, never look down on anyone. One day you may find yourself having nothing at all. Life is like a big wheel. Sometimes you are up high above everyone else and sometimes you are at the bottom. No one can predict the ups and downs of life.

Hence, that is why it is important for you to never look down on anyone when you are at the top of the world. There may be many people who are not as successful or happy as you are but there are a lot of others who are doing better than you.

Respect everyone, no matter how rich or poor they are.

Some people may not be blessed by worldly blessings like many people but sometimes, they are blessed with good health and supportive family.

As long as they are kind, never look down on them.

The next time you go out and walk on the streets, remember to respect the cleaners who have worked very hard to clean up the streets. They may not have much in terms of materials but they may have better conscience than most people.

Look at the clean streets that you pass by every day. It is the result of the hard work by the street cleaners. Look at the house you live in. It is the result of the construction workers who worked hard days and night, rain or shine.

Look at the food you eat. It is because of the farmers who work tirelessly at the farms that you are able to eat.

As the world keeps changing, so does our lives. Today, you might be at the top of the world and have everything you desire. The next day, you could lose everything and be at the bottom as you see other people rise to the top.

A truly successful person will never look down on anyone.

If you want others to respect you, you must first treat others with respect.

So, do not look down on anyone and treat others with respect and love. As long as we live our lives respecting each other, only then our lives will be meaningful and become better and better.

Olay Moisturising Lotion comes in 150 ml bottle at RM 41.50 which is quite affordable and easy to get. I bought this moisturizer during Guardian All Cosmetic Brands 50% 22 – 26 May 2019. Actually of I went there for the makeup but then I decided to grab this too. Maybe I should buy this during Guardian All Skincare Brands 40% so I can get it cheaper, but yeah I can’t do anything about it, my mistake TT_TT.

People with normal, combination skin types. For oily skin types, I’m scared it’ll be quite greasy for you, but since this is moisturiser with a lotion type, which is lighter than the usual cream types, maybe it’ll be fine. Anything is depends on your skin. For sensitive skin types, you should check the ingredients that’s can make your skin worse first before purchase. For dry skin, maybe this moisturizer will be not moisturizing enough for your skin or maybe yes. Again, depends on your skin.

I have been using this Olay Moisturising Lotion everyday almost 2 month, this is my first time using skincare product from Olay brand. It doesn’t break me out and I’m sure how much you guys know how the feelings when you got a moisturizer that suits your skin very well. My skin type is combination/normal, for your information. It absorbs right into the skin and doesn’t leave a greasy feeling. I’m hardly to get a right moisturizer for my skin, some of them made my face feels greasy and some of them really does nothing which makes me displeased.

It’s claims to 100% fragrance and color-free but I think there’s still have a fragrance in this moisturizer, not so heavy ones just a nice one. But I still continue using it since my skin can tolerable with fragrance, but if your skin sensitive to the fragrance, please avoid it.

I bet some of you may know that there’s a lot of good moisturizer out there, contains good ingredients with the affordable price (some of them quite expensive) but not so hygienic. I mean by not so hygienic is they’re in there jar. I prefer moisturizer in the tube or bottle, so this one got my attention.

  • Quite affordable
  • Easily accessible
  • Doesn’t break me out
  • Hygienic packaging
  • Smell good

  • Contains paraben

So, there is it. I hope you’re get a kick out of this Olay Moisturising Lotion review. If you are in need to get a new moisturizer to make sure your skin soft, please buy it. You can get it here.

Katerer Cinta Review

Aku ingat hidup aku semuanya sugar and spice, where everything’s nice. Tapi sebenarnya kopi dan petai. Pahit dan tengik.

Selamat Hari Raya to all my silent reader. I’m done reading this just a few hours after I bought it at SMO Bookstore (pffft bulan puasa sepatutnya banyak baca Al-Quran) This 9th and the latest book from one of my favorite authors, Nurul Syahida. By reading the synopsis behind the book, I know this book is about arranged marriage, but not your so-typical arranged marriage storyline, hate at the first place, keep arguing with the partner and sweet-konon-habis-tangkap-cintan in the end. Maira, the protagonist, married at 22, divorced at 23.

Nurul Syahida, one of well known writers in Malaysia and all her books really my cup of tea, not so heavy storyline, not as cliche as other books although it is about serious and mature enough for me. Nurul Syahida said she’s dedicated her latest book, this sweet #KatererCinta to her best friend who’s handling catering company, saying how busy her life as a caterer, be in charge of food for any events such as wedding, baby shower and so on. How she can even handling foods and drinks on other wedding ceremonies while she still hasn’t married.

The book is simply about Maira life story. How she survived after her stupid-moron husband, Annas leave her alone, broken-heart just because of another toxic-blonde girl. How hard she tries to get over him, get out from her comfort zone and building her career as a caterer with the support of her bestfriend, Hafsa. The timeline of the story is easy to understand. The writer already wrote down the period when the story is set up , for us to better understand the storyline .

I am, neither a married woman nor a widow myself but through this book, I learnt how hard be a widow. How hard the feeling when others learned about your status. How you have to survive in your life after what happened.

Best Caramel Pudding Recipe Ever!

Hi there. Do you miss me? I miss myself and my readers too ≧ω≦. Anyways, let’s me tell you something. In this Ramadan, I decided to ( clear throat ) making a caramel pudding and sell it at bazaar Ramadan. It’s not that delicious but I’m happy to say that it’s going very well for the first time. Today I decided to share with you this easy-peasy caramel pudding recipe.

I’m not an expert, however as an amateur I think this caramel pudding recipe is easy enough to try for, especially for beginners like me. Trying is not a crime. Me myself, trying hard for few times to make sure this pudding is made very well.

Caramel Pudding Recipe

Ingredients :

  • 5 tablespoons of sugar (for pudding)
  • 1/2 can evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 150ml water
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon custard powder
  • 4 tablespoons of sugar (for caramel)

Time needed: 1 hour.

  1. For caramel

First, place the sugar in a pan, cook until brown on a low heat. Pour into the round pan 5″ and swirl around until all the sides are covered. When the caramel is cool down, make sure to rub cooking oil on the edge of the pan using pastry brush to make sure the pudding will not fasten.

  2. Next, you can heat up your streamer.

  3. For Pudding

This step is the pudding part. Pour evaporated milk, sugar, vanilla extract, water and custard powder in a container and stir until sugar is completely dissolved.

  4. Next, put the eggs into the mixture, stir with hand whiskey until well blended.

  5. You can pour your pudding mixture into the round pan that contains caramel.

  6. Close the pan with aluminium foil.

  7. Steam for 30 minutes

  8. To make sure the pudding is well cooked, you can tip the middle of the pudding with the fork, if nothing sticks to it, that’s meaning the pudding is cooked.

  9. Remove from steamer and let it cool down a little bit, the put into refrigerator. Turn out onto a plate and serve.

There is it, I hope you can make it too and eat it together with your siblings, family and friends during iftar. Nothing better than having a good times with your family plus with your delicious dessert, after all.

May Allah always guide you all throughout your journey in life. I wish this Ramadan will infuse you with courage That will help you be triumphant over the adversities of life. Ramadan Mubarak!
