I love reading, but I’ve learned that I need to be a little careful about what I pick up when I’m not feeling my best.
Books like Girl in Pieces and The Glass Girl can be emotionally heavy. I feel for the characters, and sometimes their experiences stay with me even after I’ve put the book down.
That’s why I’ve started making a little rule for myself: no dark books when I’m feeling down.
There are plenty of books waiting on my shelves. I can always return to the heavier ones when I’m in a better mood.
For now, I’ll stick to something lighter.
Not every book needs to break your heart to be worth reading.
