My Experience of Blogging

Posted on Jul 18, 2021 in Blogging

I started blogging about eight and half years ago, during my diploma years. I don’t have any specific reason why I started blogging or idea of what I could post in my blog. But I love reading. I read a ton of blog posts every day to kill time and gain some knowledge from what I had read. Also I tried my best to leave a comment on every post I’ve read to build a strong relationship with the bloggers.

As a blog platform, I started blogging on Blogdrive for the first time. Then, I learned about Blogspot.com, WordPress.com, and Tumblr. And now I’m blogging using my own custom domain on WordPress.org. Although I need to pay yearly for the domain, to be honest, using a custom domain for my blog is a game changer and the best decision I ever made. Whether it’s free or paid platform, I can’t even choose, because both of them give me experience of blogging

Like I said before, I don’t have any idea what to post on my blog since I started from zero. So I just posted random things that crossed my mind. As the time passed, I started blogging about things I like and love to do. For example, skincare products. As a skincare enthusiast, I keep trying on products depending on the skin types and skin problems. Not only that, I’ll make sure to check out whether it is affordable or easy to get so that my readers don’t have any problems purchasing the products.

Since I figured out  that I couldn’t focus on only one topic alone, I visited some blogs with different categories like food and book blogs. I found how enjoyable being a book blogger is. Writing a book review, joining a book tour, and also writing book tag posts is good too. I found it less stressful for me when I joined and wrote a book tag. Reading a food blog let me know and trying new recipes and where the location of the restaurant or cafe that made the delicious food and drinks is.

Nothing better than when you get a new skill at the moment you are trying to get out of your comfort zone. That’s what happens to me. First I started with reading random blog posts. Then I started my own blog. Without realizing it, I learned about coding, time management and writing skills. Although it’s not so much, it’s better than nothing.

Before this, my time management was not in a good shape. I tend to do things at the very last minute which is not good for myself. Take blogwalking as an example. I thought before that blogwalking is one of the hardest things to do when it comes to blogging. Of course it is. So I figured out how to settle down this problem. I know not all bloggers update their blog like every single day. So, I tend to blogwalking two or three times a week and read as much as possible as I can. I normally blogwalking and leave a comment on  five or six blogs. This helps me build a strong relationship between the bloggers worldwide.

I don’t know how long I will be a blogger but for now I will enjoy it as much as I can. There’s more blogging stuff I’ll try and get an experience through it. I wish blogging will last forever and more people, especially those who love writing, are gonna love blogs as much as they love others’ social media.
